These steps were created using Mac OS X. For earlier operating systems, you will need to download and use a third party program.<\/p>\n

  1. From your hard-drive, open the\u00a0Applications<\/strong>\u00a0folder, and click to open the\u00a0Utilities<\/strong>\u00a0folder.<\/li>\n

                Google Mail Fetcher<\/h3>\n

                Why use a Mail Fetcher\u00a0versus\u00a0an Email Forwarder?<\/h3>\n

                Forwarded emails tend to cause blacklisting with major email providers, and it will cause your emails to be marked as spam. \u00a0Blacklisting also causes\u00a0your server\u2019s sending reputation to be penalized since it was the last server to send the email. Ultimately, your server will become blacklisted with the email provider and will affect all of the users on the server.<\/p>\n

                A solution to blacklisting is to this is to stop mail forwarding altogether. Using a\u00a0mail fetcher<\/b>, you can access email in a remote system without having the mail routed through that system\u2019s server. With this process, you can mark a message as spam without affecting your email server\u2019s reputation.<\/p>\n

                Google Mail Fetcher<\/h3>\n

                Google Mail Fetcher uses POP3 to pull emails from up to 5 email accounts and then parses the emails for spam. \u00a0Once set up, Google will check the email accounts on a regular basis, and the new email will appear in your inbox.<\/p>\n

                Google Mail Fetcher set up:<\/p>\n

                1. Log into your Gmail account<\/li>\n
                2. Click the gear icon located on the upper right hand corner of the page and select\u00a0Settings<\/strong><\/li>\n
                3. Click the\u00a0Accounts<\/strong>\u00a0tab<\/li>\n
                4. Locate\u00a0Check mail from other accounts:<\/em>\u00a0and click\u00a0Add a mail account<\/strong><\/li>\n
                5. Type the email address you are wanting to fetch in the new window and click\u00a0Next<\/strong><\/li>\n

                                  Known Issues<\/h3>\n

                                  Enter Settings Manually<\/h4>\n

                                  If you create a BlackBerry account with the same username and password as your cPanel account, there can be a major conflict.<\/p>\n

                                  When an\u00a0email account is set-up on BIS, you are prompted\u00a0for only 2 things: an email address and password. If both the email and username exist and the passwords are the same, BlackBerry will accept this data and sync the phone with the account\u2019s default email address instead of your Site5 email address.<\/p>\n

                                  The issue can be resolved by\u00a0giving BlackBerry a fake password. When email client cannot authenticate, you will be\u00a0prompted to\u00a0Re-enter account information<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0Enter the settings manually<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

                                    \n
                                  1. Select\u00a0Enter the settings manually<\/strong>, and select\u00a0I will provide the settings to add this email account<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
                                  2. Enter the full IMAP information for your account.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                    The workaround will allow BIS to sync with the proper account.<\/p>\n

                                    Note:<\/strong>\u00a0With the new Blackberry OS, this fix may not apply; however, you may want to try the above steps if you continue to have difficulty setting up your email account.<\/p>\n

                                    Re-Register Your BlackBerry Device<\/h4>\n

                                    You may have to re-register your device with your wireless network. To do this:<\/p>\n

                                    1. Click the\u00a0BlackBerry<\/strong>\u00a0button >\u00a0Options<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
                                    2. Advanced Options\u00a0<\/strong>>\u00a0Host Routing Table<\/strong>.<\/li>\n

                                      Exporting and importing emails through Webmail<\/h3>\n

                                      You may import mail into any folder, including your inbox. However, for ease of management you might find it useful to create a separate folder for imported mail \u2013 for instance, to keep all mail exported from another host separate from your current mail structure.<\/p>\n

                                      To create a mail folder in Horde:<\/p>\n

                                        \n
                                      1. Left-click the\u00a0Folder Actions<\/strong>\u00a0icon in the left menu<\/li>\n
                                      2. Left-click\u00a0Create Mailbox<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
                                      3. In the \u201cCreate mailbox\u201d popup, enter the name of the new folder and click\u00a0OK<\/strong><\/li>\n
                                      4. Your new folder will now appear in Horde\u2019s left column<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                        How to Import Email<\/h2>\n
                                        Your email should be in a .mbox or .eml file to be imported into Horde. Unzip your file first if you were provided a .zip file.<\/div>\n

                                                              Due to being severely outdated and highly insecure at this point in time, we have decided to remove cPanel Form Mail CGI scripts from our servers. While cPanel form mail will no longer be available, there are many alternatives which provide the same functionality while being more secure, whether that is within existing platforms such as WordPress or by using third party applications.<\/p>\n

                                                              We wanted to provide you with an example alternative that would work on our servers with no problems at all. Following the steps below will have your Form Mail script configured and ready for use.<\/p>\n

                                                                \n
                                                              • Download the FormMail template script from\u00a0Matt\u2019s Script Archive<\/li>\n
                                                              • Unpack the archive and ensure the\u00a0FormMail.pl<\/b>\u00a0script is placed in your\u00a0public_html\/cgi-bin\/<\/b>\u00a0folder.<\/li>\n
                                                              • There is now just one line you would need to alter:\n
                                                                  \n
                                                                • @referers = (\u2018yourdomain.com\u2019,\u2019YOUR_IP\u2019); \u2013 replace these fields with your specific site\/domain information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
                                                                • Change the permissions on your FormMail.pl script to 755 and that\u2019s it! Your script is ready for use!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                                                  Note: If you find that your script is not executing properly, please attempt renaming the file to FormMail.cgi, this may provide better results<\/i><\/p>\n

                                                                  The FormMail template script is highly customizable and the steps we\u2019ve provided above give you the most basic setup.<\/p>\n

                                                                  SMTP Authentication at Site5<\/h3>\n

                                                                  For added security and spam protection, we\u2019ve ensured that pop-before-smtp connections are disabled on our servers. What this means is that every outbound mail connection (SMTP connection) must be authenticated and can not just be sent without logging in.<\/p>\n

                                                                  Of course, having this added layer of security does produce errors when connections are not made properly. If your email is being sent using a connection that has not been authenticated, you may see an error such as this:<\/p>\n

                                                                  [12.34.56.789]:49593 is not permitted to relay through this server without authentication.. Please check the message recipient emailrecipient@example.com and try again.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

                                                                  If you do run into a problem such as this, the solution would be to ensure SMTP Authentication is enabled within your email app or script. If you have difficulties configuring SMTP authentication within your email client, please feel free to reach out to our support staff!<\/p>\n
